The 2025 season was another successful season for the club, we had our 1XI, 2XI and midweek team all competing across the season totalling 46 senior matches for the club. Our junior section continued to go from strength to strength with over 45 5-11 years olds in the ECB supported programmes of All Stars and Dynamos as well as the addition of nets for u13’s. We received new playing members and saw some of our junior section jump up to the senior teams.
The 1XI finished 3rd in the South Northants Cricket League Premier division. We played 18 games winning 10 losing 5 and seeing 3 abandoned mid-game due to weather. Our wins included victories over Syresham, Kings Sutton, Finmere, Byfield, Sibford, Thornborough and Woodford Halse. Our batter of the year was Ben Patterson, our bowler of the year was Lawrence Lee and the player of the year was Matt Slade. The 2XI finished 8th in their first season in South Northants Cricket League Division 1 after securing promotion the previous year.
This saw the 2XI survive the risk of relegation and keep their place in Division 1.18 games were played with 6 wins, 9 losses and 3 abandoned mid-game due to weather. Our wins included victories over Chipping Warden, Wicken, Wardington and Printers. Our batter of the year was Kye Cosby, our bowler of the year was Henry Unger and the player of the year was Ben Armstrong. Our midweek team competed in the Buckingham midweek league and achieved a mid table finish. We had a mix of players from our 1XI & 2XI who made up the midweek team and we also gave some senior cricket debuts to younger members of the club in this competition. The highlight of the season was winning a midweek trophy by beating Fringford in the George Blow cup hosted by the Buckingham midweek league.
It has been another season of success and great support from around the village, thank you very much for coming to watch us on the green over the course of the summer and we look forward to seeing you all for the 2026 season.
